    I have looked at the properties of the film - its a Windows Media Audio/Video file but under LICENCE it says Protected Content. Is this why I cannot convert it??

    You're probably right.
    This is what it says on their website:-

    blinkbox titles are protected using Microsoft Windows Media DRM (Digital Rights Management)
