simple Q- how to switch off screen-blackout?

if I don't use my mouse or keyboard for ten minutes, the screen goes black to save energy, and I have to wiggle the mouse to bring it back again. It's annoying if I'm watching a film online. How can I switch it off?

I'm using windows vista if that's relevant.

Open Command Prompt with administrative privileges. Next, type in the following command: powercfg -h off

    ;)

    To turn back on:

    powercfg -h on

    ;)

start > control panel > power options on XP (vista/win7 should be similar)
  • Brilliant! followed your instructions, and changed it from 15 minutes to a much more workable 3 hours. I guess I'll know in 15 minutes if it worked or not :cheesy:

    thankyou both!

  • you too!

I'll be able to watch films from my bed now, yay! (you would laugh if I told you how long I've had this computer and not known how to change that setting; even tho it really annoys me when it happens, especially during dramas... well, it's well over a year, anyway :o)
