i currently have 3 hard drives in my desk top pc. i aquired my pc a few years ago and basically i took out my 160 gig harddrive out of my old pc and just put it inot this one, and it works fine. I have XP running on one drive and Vista running on another. my 3rd hard drive is only about 20 gig and thats the one i would like to replace.
putting in my other one was just trial and error but this time because i need to buy one i need it to be correct. any advise on what hard drive i need, what are the rules of changing one.
how much is a good one something on the size of 200gig, or more if need be. possibly to put on windows 7.

Does your computer have SATA connections or just plain old IDE/PATA?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

now then this is were im not a techno. the connection is like a 'ribbon' that has a connector on the end with lots of holes. All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -
Probably best to go for as big as you can - something like this 500GB for just under £60 delivered.
IDE (PATA) drives are getting scarce now as they have been replaced by SATA - the other option would be to fit a SATA controller card, then you could fit a more future proof SATA drive.0 -
Why have you got 3 hard drives in your computer, why not buy an external drive?
I bought this 1TB usb external from Comet yesterday for £54.
