    My offset (and thus stooze pot) is worth first direct. Do you think they'd cotton on if I applied for this card when my Virgin BT is up in APril? (If offer is still there in April!!)

    The conditions state...
    qualifying Balance Transfers must be made within 2 months of account opening

    ...so with that in mind, you could apply for the card in mid-February and request the transfer in early April. You'd get 15 months at 0% from that point.
