Exchange of contracts

Hi have a quick question on behalf of a friend whose now worried after exchanging contracts. She along with her partner have a joint mortgage and so would be joint owners of the property but when they exchanged contracts last week her name wasn't on the contract although she did sign. Does this mean that she's not going to be joint owner or would this be reflected in the deeds?
TIA

Would suggest that she talks to her Solicitor about the concern, they will clarify what the situation is very quickly.0

If she signed it should be okay, but yes, contact a Solicitor and make sure.0

Thanks both for the replies. She'll be contacting the solicitors when back in Jan...0

This omission should have been picked up by the Conveyancer when going through the contract on exchange. Your friend needs to ensure that her name is on the TR1 (Transfer document) on completion of the purchase and check that she is registered as a joint owner when the Land Registry formalities are complete otherwise, inter alia, she will have no registered interest but will be financially liable under the terms of the Mortgage. Rectifying the problem now could save big problems at a later date0
