Costco ones are delicious. People even queue up for them!!!

  • We had a little trial going on in our house over christmas to see who did the best mince pies

    We've had:

    Normal tesco ones
    Normal sainsburys ones
    Mr Kiplings
Netto - not sure if they were extra special, only could find one box in entire shop
    Asda extra special

I personally thought the netto ones were best, think they were £1.50
Mr Kiplings second, very nice pastry
Tesco and Sainsburys ran on par with each other
But I was disappointed with Asda extra special, the pastry wasn't very nice and the fruit seemed very chewy.

Next year will be stocking up on Nettos

Duchy Originals were the best shop bought ones I had this year.
Hoping this year is better than the last. :)

Our Iceland were selling off their 18-packs for £1 instead of £2 yesterday. Best before date 11th Jan. They are yummy.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

  • I've decided I like lattice ones in puff pastry. Less pastry and more filling! They were giving free samples in St.Albans the other day, from the bakery in the Maltings.

DH was never keen on them before, but since tasting the Walkers Luxury Mince pies we got in a hamper, he swears they're the best he's tasted. :xmassmile
