Im not a great fan of mince pies too sweet for me but just made a few for tomorrow.
The Aldi ones were good - great value and no dairy in so I could eat them!
I had the best mince pie in Cafe Neros - about £1.65 but huge and had cranberries in - really yum!Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

I really like the tesco finest too, the pastry tastes almost like shortbread...nice!
as for Cafe Nerd, the mince pies might be good but I've yet to have a decent coffee from them, it's always bitter.Turn £100 into £10,000 in 2010 member # 247

Never tried the coffee as not a coffee fan - but had heard about these fab mince pies so went to try one - dont normally find cakes/puds out that are suitable for vegans and these are so nice with cranberries in!
Think a lot of people in Worcester are moving from Neros to the new cafe Boston tea party as hear their coffee is fantastic!Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

Honestly...I never understand why people don't just make them! It takes about 1 minute to make the pastry in a blender (I use 12oz plain flour, 7.5oz butter, 1/4 teaspoon salt + a little dribble of water to bind). I use a tumbler to cut out the tops/bottoms and they take about 20 minutes at 200c in a standard oven. Job done. For the price of one jar of mince (about £1.20) you get a dozen mince pies and they'll taste better than any shop bought one!“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. Tesco ordinary deep filled ones in the red box weren't worth the money. ( I know I should have made them but had flu which wiped me out and I just grabbed these )
half filled and the filling was a bit chewy as if they had been overcooked and the pastry was too crumbly so it went everywhere.0 -
I love mince pies. Which shops have started reducing the price of them?0
