trouble setting up an r4i card

hi all,

I recently updated my sons dsi to 1.4, which meant that the r4i card we had would no longer work.

From reading on the internet I discovered that we needed a new r4i card.
We ordered a new r4i card able to use after the 1.4update (red box)

I have downloaded various types of software for the card and none of it seems to work. All that happens is that I load the game up and nothing happens other than a white screen at the top and a black lower screen.

Does anyone know how I can sort this out? it's for christmas so would really appreciate some advice.

Downgrade your DSi's firmware, not going to tell you how as its the quickest way to turn your DSi into an expensive paperweight.

Google it at your own risk and IIRC V1.4 firmware hasn't been fixed yet to use homebrew software

thanks for your response.

i purchased a new card as various forums including this - http://www.r4dscards.co.uk/R4i-DS-Card/#7 said that a new one would work on the dsi after 1.4 update.

I am really confused now

You need to put the software update on the card and run it (just like a game) from a DS or a DSi that's not been upgraded yet.

If I do that will it then be able to work on the updated dsi?

i came across the same thing when i tried to set up my r4i sdhc purchased from gameyeeeah finally, i went to r4deluxe.com and that website has the right kernel for the card. No other kernels work for it. remember to change the site language into english so you wont confuse
