Hope someone here can help!

I had a cheapy freeview box from Asda for about 2 years, which worked well and one day gave up the ghost. I brought new one from Argos for about £30 - it is a bit odd - it works for a while then sometimes goes black and white, or really pixelated, or freezes completely.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Different boxes have slightly better or worse sensitivity. If your old box worked OK, you know the aerials probably OK. I'd take it back and get it replaced - if the replacement is the same get your money back and opt for a different make, maybe the same as your old box.

thank you! im gonna take it back to argos this weekend! i cant even remember what make the other one was! trial and error!

Good luck with Argos, Freeview boxes are excluded from their 16 day money back guarentee, if its less than 30 days you should be able to get a refund if its faulty.
