Switching gas and electricity (from a meter)

Hi everyone
I currently live in a rented property with two other people (friends, not family). We currently have a gas meter and an electricity meter.
The cost is absolutely ridiculous. For example, in the last month alone I have personally spent £80 on both combined (£40 each). And that's after we split it 3 ways - so a monthly total of roughly £200 - £250 for both.
Can anyone offer advice as to how we can either switch to a monthly DD provider, or lower these costs somehow?
Thanks all

Look at a comparison service website - Uswitch etc. (switch pre payment to pre payment)
I'm with Ebico cos NO standing charge or tiered rates.
If you want a credit meter (bills) normally your current provider has to change your meter. I don't know if having a split tenancy will affect the change of meter type. If you do switch to a credit meter you then could switch providers then credit meter to credit meter.0 -
You may want to think about how you use your gas / electricity as well. Shower instead of baths, low energy light bulbs, closing curtains to save heat etc.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

I would have a look on the quidco website. We have just switched from southern electric to Scottish Power as they were offering £110 cashback for switching gas and elec.
You just fill in the form online and scottish power contact your existing supplier and handle the switch over.FreePremiershipOnline.com - your guide to free streaming football0 -
The biggest users of energy are heating, hot water (?electric shower) and tumble dryer - basically anything that produces a lot of heat.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
