registering a hobby for tax purposes

If you're already getting a tax return, it wouldn't be a lot of bother, IMO.I'm semi-retired now and on a low income but do have a small amount of tax to pay so any earnings from my hobby would be taxable. I like the idea of making a small amount of money to fund the hobby but it just seems such a lot of hassle if I decide to register just for a couple of hundred quid.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Thanks again for extra info. Might give the IR a call and suss it out with them. I don't mind a little effort to make it legal and keep them off my back but don't want loads of admin.0
