Creative Muvo Mp3 Player problem

Anyone advise as to whether my Muvo mp3 player might be dead, or just needs (no idea what!)?
Son plugged it into usb port on computer to put new mp3's onto it but tried to use the Window Media Player to transfer files instead of the supplied software.
As soon as the transfer started he got some sort of error message but he can't remenber what it said....something with 'corrupted' in it he thinks. ::)
Player now wont switch on. Changed battery but no use.
The thing is only about 7 weeks old!
Obviously going to see about repair, but if it's likely son's actions killed the thing then that wont be covered by warranty and it might not be cost effective to repair?
Intend to plead ignorant but I'm sure they'll know what caused the fault when they test it. Don't want hit with bill.
Any opinions?
Cheers

Try going to the Creative website and download the latest software (firmware) to go on the MuVo. Hopefully it will right itself this way.0

Thank you for reply Beninio.
That crossed my mind but I thought there would be no point since the thing wont even switch on.
When you plug it into USB port now, it's just a blank window that comes up too. :-/
I'll give it a go though, it's worth a try and it certainly wont do anymore damage.0 -
It worked! Player is fine now.
Thanks again for reply.0
