EDF Quantum Meter
Options
hi there, im new so be soft with me.
about 5 months ago my partner and i moved into a new house, but the previous tennants had bad debt so there was a Quantum meter for the Gas only in the house.
we currently have a normal setup on the electricity with them.
quite recently it seems to be eating cash on the meter even though were are in the same time everyday using gas between 5pm - 10pm daily and never at any other times other than at weekends etc..
since friday 18th dec to now 23rd dec its eaten £20 in gas!
does that sound right? we have no debt, its not paying anything back for debt.
this time 4 weeks ago we were lucky to get through £10 a week using it at the same times!! we both work together at the same work place so i know nothing has been left on while im out, im fastidious about that!!
is it possible to get this meter removed? would it be any cheaper?

Check the display on the meter to see if any debt amount has been added when you topped up last, tariff adjustments and debt loading are done through the card I believe. If there is, contact EDF PDQ as it is not unknown for utilities to make an error and charge the wrong customer.0

the reason is it has been very cold in the last few days so you are using more gas.
it should drop down when the weather gets milder.
one of the realities of pp meters is that you are paying in real time for energy as you use it.
i have got around this by bulding up credit during the summer so even though i am currently using more than is being fed to the meter i don't have to worry, the credit is already there.0
