Help Landlady has died!

I have just had an email from my letting agent informing me the landlady has died and they are awaiting instructions from her husband. I have an AST till August, can they throw me out before then????????

  • Your tenancy continues as before, on the same terms, simply changed by your landlord now being her estate/executors, presumably in this case hubby...

Give him time & a bit of consideration given his loss/time of year and keep your side of the bargain (eg paying on time...). You are no better/worse off than before...

    Cheers!

No, unless she is in problems with a non BTL mortgage. Her estate [ie executor] becomes your Landlord. This may cause problems if the executor is clueless about being Landlord. If they do want you out quickly, then they would have to try and buy you out.

I imagine you'll be left alone, after all, with your rent they are paying for the coffin.

    Good Luck!
