As above he isnt actually my dog he belongs to my friend and im going to be talking to her today about getting him seen by a vet asap, she did call me yesterday but the signal is awful in my house and she could barely hear me so i thought it best to wait until i see her in person
He is walked approx 4 times a day sometimes more when i take him out its usually a max of about 30minutes (being heavily pregnant its not that easy for me to stay out with him for long!) if im going anywhere and there is no reason why he cant come with me then he comes with me! usually only backwards and forwards from the shop or on the school run etc. My friend also takes him out twice a day for an hour each time. He also has free run of a large garden all day and i am always playing with his toys with him even if its just me throwing a ball and him going to get it and bringing it back, my eldest DD does this with him also.
So i dont think lack of exercise is what is causing it however i dont know how much exercise they actually need if you know what i mean!
I did have a look at the crates online last night and they were no where near as expensive as i thought they were going to be! So i will mention that to my friend today also!
Will have to look into dog trainers in the area i dont know of any but im sure there must be some about somewhere!0 -

Yours is a grizzle then, they dont even need their coats cutting do they. Diggs is blue and tan - the long curly haired type. He is gorgeous yes. And to think he had been abandoned is mind blowing isnt it. Had it not been for the Rochdale Dog Rescue group, volunteers who get dogs out the dog pound, he would have been put to sleep on his 7th day. Doesnt bear thinking about.0 -
Princess, is he insured (as he really should be) - if so, many policies now include help with behaviour problems.0

Thank you, she is the love of my life - can't believe the love I feel for her and we have only had her since August (she is now 6.5 months old)
How are you getting on with your boy? It may be well worth your while starting dog training classes - I know this will be difficult though with impending arrival!
Does he have a crate at all - just thinking he might view it as somewhere 'safe' to go when things get a bit too much for him0 -
According to there online store they don't sell muzzles it may be worth giving your vet a ring as they may stock them as they use them on the less than friendly dogs0

I think he needs a quiet home without any children. I would never leave any dog unattended with a young child. The dog will always get the blame if anything happens.
The muzzle that he has got currently i dont actually use on him though i did when he bit my daughter the other day but it was only on him for a maximum on 15mins, i usually use it when he starts barking at strangers or at guests that come to the house that he doesnt know or doesnt like! Even then i only have to show it to him and he will quieten down there is no need for me to use it.
The muzzle was suggested as a temporary measure until i could start retraining him.
He is never left alone with my children and i was sat next to my daughter when the incident happened, it was with my friends partners child that the alleged incident happened hence why i described it as an alleged incident.0
