    Hiya folks,

Toffee Pavlova and Orange and Lemon gateau 2 for £3

Usual story multi buy didnt come off. Young girl at customer service said it had to be two of the same sized box, i don't think so, she escorted me to freezer section where we spoke to the guy who was stocking the freezers who agreed with me that it was "any 2 marked products for £3" as that was what was stamped on the boxes and marked on the freezer SEL's.

She said better get this sorted to him - suggested a black marker pen for him to score out all the "any 2 for £3" on the boxes and he just laughed after saying thats a freebie for you.

    Hope this helps.

I've had the discount taken off on two separate occasions now in two Norfolk stores.

Is there a definitive list of which product combinations don't work or is this a store by store thing now?

Yesterday in Kingston Park, Sirloin steak 2 in pack. Sticker with 'now matured fr 21 days), £12.78 on pack £11.78 on shelf. Same today in Chester le Street, correct in Durham. SEL were removed

AFAIK it is the raspberry pavlova that isn;t scanning the discount so if you get 2 of those or raspberry with something else, the discount shouldn't work, remember though the operator may scan one of your items twice insted of doing both, so make sure the raspberry one goes through first.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

Well I had a fight on my hands at CS today for my R&R but got there in the end. I'd picked up a lemon torte with a "2 for £3" banner on it and a strawberry pavlova without one on it but I checked the SEL for the pavlova and it definitely said 2 for £3.
CS woman 1st said it had to be same product, no mix and match so I challenged and said it didn't say that as big label clearly said "2 for £3 on all pavlovas, gateaux and tortes". Then she said it had to be same weight and she'd told the store people but I said wasn't my problem, it didn't say no mix and match as it has on other promotions so that is false advertising and they're breaking the law (not 100% sure they were but she looked nervous enough!). She sent some bloke off to check it and I said I knew it wasn't her fault and I was more than happy to speak to a manager - turned out it was the manager she'd sent away to check the freezer (he looked about 12 no joke!). There she was arguing with me black and blue that the pavlova wasn't included and he brought another strawberry pavlova same weight, identical product but WITH a "2 for £3" banner. She was stammering on about how mine hadn't scanned for the offer so it can't be included and he knew he didn't have a leg to stand on so said "honour it this time". So I got my R&R in the end and left with a queue of people waiting behind me when there was only me to begin with!
I think if it doesn't have the "2 for £3" banner on it, then it probably won't scan as part of the offer but make sure it is the same size as the bannered products and that it says it on the SEL.
I was going to go back in tomorrow and get some more but the 12 yr old manager went off to clear the freezer so I may not have much hope; unless there are some unbannered other products that he forgot to remove.

    Tescos at Castlegate Bournemouth:

Sirloin Steak SEL £11.87, pack price £12.99
H/L Lemon Sole SEL £10.99, Pack price £11.00
H/L Plaice SEL £7.41, Pack price iro £9.45
H/L Turkey Breast Fillets £4.98, pack price £5.48

All mispriced. Also saw cod and trout mispriced (but don't like either of them so didn't buy them) and cubed stewing steak mispriced but thought we were taking the mick with £22 worth so left them for others. Didn't look at pork or lamb sections as our freezer is full but estimated approx 25% of the meat and fish were mispriced. Prob worth a visit for any locals.

CS very unhappy about giving refund and said we had to pay price on pack. Had to point out refund policy and that should be charging price on shelf. Didn't go down awfully well! Didn't ask for name and address which was good.

Extra ICE Chewing Gum - 5 Pack
SEL in sweet section = £1.21
    Charged £1.25

    R&R 3 packs = £3.75 No problem
    SEL Removed - Leicester Hamilton

    Note:
I read hear a while ago that chewing gum is always mispriced somewhere in Tescos and that was true today. This gum was SEL £1.21 in sweet section main display but correct SEL on the end of isle displays. Can't believe i read the original post so long ago!

Large sign on shelf stating hovis best of both 2 for £1.39. Picked up the invisible crust directly above the sign, charged £1.08 a loaf no discount. CS guy came back with other loaves saying these are the ones in the offer. I said but the sign is directly below these and it sats on packaging hovis best of both.
Gave in took the other loaves and difference, will wait for a real biggie.
Thank me if you are succesful as I know I was right.

Incorrect SEL special offer label on grapes - shows price per kg as 94p, goes through the till at £1.98 per kg. I got white ones, but CS said the same thing had happened on red earlier in the day.
