In fact for the last 3 years I ALWAYS got EVERYTHING I ordered as I don't wait till Boxing Day to put my order in ... I generally put my order in before midnight on Xmas Eve.

Also, I know that if I can't get the system to put 20+ of a particular item in my basket then it's possible that under 'first come first served' one or two items won't be fulfilled!

But thanks for your helpful suggestion anyway...

My experiences for the last 3 years ALL sales Summer and Winter I've got everything...

But then again, if I waited till 10PM Christmas Day or Boxing Day I'd probably be whining and whinging on here as well...

Plus M&S have an improved system now, on the item page when you select the size/colour it tells you how many are in stock so at least you'd know if it might not arrive.

Not in M&S - they rarely put Techn ology items in the sale

No, it's NOT real-time, but very few retailers as big as M&S are real-time due to the enormous investment required to rebuild from scratch stock control systems that have worked well for 20 years...

Anyway, M&S now tell you on the item page how many of a size or colour they have in stock so you can judge for yourself if you might be disappointed!

Well good for you. Like many seasoned shoppers on this site, I placed my last order minutes after the sale went live, they lost it, sent invented despatch emails, then refunded me for the whole order and rang to apologise.
