My experiences have been with the M&S "we'll take your order and send you wildly encouraging emails about its status before eventually admitting that we made it all up and we have no stock left".

    Me too! :o
  • I had major problems with M&S in which I ended up ordering four of the same coat over a period of a month. In the end, on my 3rd telephone conversation the Customer Service told me they did what they called a "Jackpot" ordering system in which those items which they have more orders than stock are dealt with like taking your name out of a hat! It doesn't matter that you may have ordered it and received confirmation, it's just pot-luck if you receive it.
  • I had problems in Christmas 2007, when a large amount of my order was 'out of stock' but last year everything was in stock and arrived within a few days.
  • I've had similiar experiences with M&S, not even in the sale, ordering items which then are no longer available. This can delay the rest of the order. How can they let you buy stock which they don't have? I suppose their argument would be that they don't take payment until they ship.
  • Why don't you all save yourself some hassle and not order. As we all know from past experience M&S sale is so badly organised and you won't get half of what you order.
ive got up at 6am for the last 3 yrs and ordered from Marks and always got i ordered. It always looks to me like a really good sale ,only speaking from experience mind.

This looks like the link to some of the sale, but don't assume all the colours of an item are going into sale I know it's just some.eg, if it comes in brown and black only the brown will be sale.

I agree - best just to place an order and completely forget about it. If anything turns up then you've got a bonus. If it doesn't (and it quite often won't) then you will be less disappointed.
