Littlewoods Catalogue

Options
A customer of mine asked if they could order a Marc Ecko watch and bracelet set out of my Littlewoods catalogue £299, but after a couple of weeks the bracelet broke, a pin fell out of it, so i sent the set back and re-ordered, this has happened 3 times so ive now ordered 4 sets and sent back 3, today i rang littlewoods about a completely different matter to be told that in one of the returned sets the bracelet was missing  i asked why i wasn't contacted about this and the bloke said "we've tried ringing you 3 times", if so why didn't they leave a message.

I told the bloke on the phone it was definately there and he said if i disputed it i needed to write to them, which i have done and posted recorded delivery.

I'm really worried about this, its my word against theirs, i have no proof that the bracelet was in the parcel, ive never had a problem like this before and ive been with Littlewoods for 10 + years

What do you think they'll do ? take me to court? make me pay for it?

any advice appreciated

  • Sorry I can't offer any real advice, but I do sympathise. I had a similar sort of problem with Littlewoods a few years ago. I ordered some jeans for my hubby. He tried them on, they didn't fit so I returned them. They were in my possession for about 24 hours, yet Littlewoods claimed there was blue dye on the inside pockets which proved I had washed the jeans (as if I could wash and dry them within 24 hours anyway!).

I was livid - the jeans were stiff which showed they were new and unwashed. I stuck to my guns and eventually Littlewoods gave in, but they said they were accepting the return basically as a goodwill gesture (not because they admitted they were in the wrong), so although I got my money back, I closed my account as I was so disgusted at the way I had been treated.

I'd been with them for years and years, too - so loyalty doesn't appear to count for much with them.

All I can say is stick to your guns. As you say, it's your word against theirs, but that works both ways - their word is not worth more than yours.
