Any way to check mot status with just car reg

Hi.

Is there any way you can check if a car has an mot with just the reg and chassis number?

MOTINFODOTGOVDOT UK needs the reference from log book or the test number.

BTW there is no sticker on the car, already looked:(

    Ask the owner if you can see the certificate.

    Bought from salvage dealer who hasn't yet received the docs from insurance company. He is Legitimate, had several cars from him before.
