Tesco Direct Sale - possible glitch?

I saw several items I wanted in the online store but rather than pay postage went into the store today to pick them up. But what's on sale online and what's on sale instore are 2 very different things! I've seen things reduced in store that aren't reduced online, and the things I wanted online aren't reduced instore!
I asked a member of staff about it and she said it was because they are like a different shop (understand) but she said someone had brought back an item from the online store and it was scanning thru for them for full price when she had paid half price. She wasn't any more forthcoming but I have a question you experienced bargain hunters may be able to answer...
If I buy an item online in the sale and take it back and it scans thru full price in store, do I get the full price refund or the sale refund????

its not really a glitch, just the same as buying something cheap anywhere then trying to get it refunded at a more expensive shop to make a profit.
If you have a reciept they will refund at the price you paid, not sure what there stand is on returning items with no proof of purchase is though.0 -
I wouldn't do it personally, but I'm not sure it's any worse that people ordering £1000s of pounds of 'free' alcohol gifts from M&S!0
