    Say it ain't so!
Tis so. On our table, four of us. I had a can of pepsi, one other had a glass of water, two others had nothing, then made a coffee after dinner.

I'll be here. Nobody comes round, we never go round anywhere else. We don't leave the house. Two octogenarians, me and my sibling.

    Deep joy ... not.

    Oh yes, I'll be here.

Hey, be positive, arent you with the people who love you the most:j

    Happy Christmas PN;)

I can hear the party next door .... didn't invite me ... b4str4rds. Sat here with elderly parents, Corrie on the box. No presents for me under the tree. No booze.

I think I went wrong somewhere... need to plan better next year.

Again, think positive, you are with the people who love you the most in all thw world, now how lucky are you.

Would you rather be next door with people who really couldnt giv a toss whether you were there or not

    You bet you would :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Far too much red wine for me yesterday and I'm going to watch the Sydney-Hobart race today out on the Pacific which should be an interesting combination!

Got back from my parents just in time for Gavin and Stacy....we all had a great day.

Started off the morning rushing around like a headless chicken as eldest decided much too late that he wanted to take his Xbox to my parents, which meant that I had to rush to get to the balloon shop to pick up our table balloons. Then I realised that I had forgotten the whole salmon in the freezer (one of my bargains, 50p instead of £7!), so back to the house we went to pick it up...back on the road again and eldest wanted to bolster up his present to my brother (we realised late last night that the boys hadn't done anything for him, so it youngest put a piece of his artwork in a frame, middle did a CD and eldest wrote a couple of his short stories), so we then had to divert to the only shop open in the village to get an extra large chocolate bar.

Finally arrived at my parents at 10.20 and within 10 minutes of arrival, the front room looked like a bomb had hit it! There were 12 of us in there all opening presents at the same time and excited shouts abounded from my 3 boys and my niece and nephew.

My sister had wrongly labelled one present, so eldest had a present which had been bought for my dad and his proper present had gone in someone elses bag (not in our lot....one of her husbands family). Then we couldn't find one of my nephews' presents, so a search was started, whilst this was going on, neice lost the dummy to her doll set, so that joined the list (we were also at this time looking for the present from my sister to my eldest) and then finally, the bottle which went with the same baby set went missing too......the rubbish bags were turned upside down and sorted through several times to no avail.

The present for the nephew turned up, it had been put on the side by mistake...the dummy and bottle turned up much later once she was home with her mother.

Dinner passed off without a hitch (amazingly, first time ever!) and the day went extremely well...even youngest coped a lot better but then my parents had bought him a lego set which he started building at just after 1, broke briefly for dinner and finally finished and played with it until well gone 9pm.

Then it was time to pack everything away and get back in the car for the journey home....

Out for lunch tomorrow, the children have been putting a little bit away each week (they have been giving it to my mum to look after) all year and they are treating me to a meal out at a restaurant....I was in floods when they presented me with the money and a card explaining what it was for.

So, a great day had by us all.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
  • hallo peeps i'm backbackback! cooked a mediocre meal (except for exceptional roasties), drank a moderate amount of gin and received pressies from sibs (almost all chocolate or wine. some years you get none, some years you see in the new year in an alcohol/sugar induced haze...)

watched all the christmas soap episodes. I only see them at christmas, i never have a clue what's going on or who anyone is. did enjoy the money stealing and burning on Emmerdale though. The Dingles seem to have pretty much the same christmas every year...)

now eating cold roasties (cooked a hundredweight), and starting on the alcoholic gifts...

I was the boring begger sat at the dinner table with a glass of water! I might have a drink tomorrow (well today now) but will have to work out if I really want to pay out for a taxi home.
