Photobox - Xmas Misery

Hi,
I ordered a large canvas print from Photobox over 2 weeks ago, well in time for Christmas delivery. However I got an email last night around 7pm saying they were not going to process my order as the image quality was poor and in 'their opinion' would not make a good print. There was also no time to send another and print again. There was also no time for me to make alternative arrangements...
I know the picture is of good quality as I'm a professional photographer and it was shot with a state of the art £2000 Canon camera! The resolution was almost 4000 x 3000 pixels and the website on upload said the image was of excellent quality. My own checks showed that the picture was almost double the required resolution for a canvas print.
So my wifes star present of a black and white picture I took of our baby boy is now not arriving, as well as me losing £250 for taking a day off work to ensure I was in to take delivery of it on a prebooked delivery date - about 5 hours after they told me it wouldn't be arriving.
The Photobox website says that you can upload a picture in a few seconds, so the excuse about 'no time' is rubbish and where do I stand about the image quality excuse? I've just re-made the order (taking screenshots) and again the picture comes up as excellent quality for a canvas print. I also did the same thing on Jessops and BonusPrint and both say the picture is in excess of their recommended canvas print resolution.
I really want to take these people to task for the upset they have caused but where do I stand? What can I do?
I suspect that far from it being poor quality the company is in fact 'snowed under' (pun intended) and they cannot honour orders and have made up some rubbish to cover their backsides.
