Just had a call from holidays4u - scam

So sitting here enjoying my Christmas holiday and the phone goes, I've only gone and won a 2 week holiday to Florida!! OMG!! The guy wanted me to verify some information, despite the fact he called me. He said he was calling on behalf of the visa head office. He asked for the 7 digit number on the back, including the 3 CVC (?) digits. I refused to give him the numbers, so he got his boss. He told me he was called Shane Lee from www.holidays4u.com and to process the legal paperwork he really, really, really needed those digits.
He tried to convince my by giving me some details, phone number - 02030264827, his extension number 209, the website above. Anyway I refused to give him the numbers so he got stroppy and hung up. Called barlcaycard who confirmed my suspicions and took a note of the details. On googling that number it seems a fairly common scam but I couldn't find much mentioning the website so thought I'd give you a heads up.
Be on your guard!

Hi,
I was so interested to see your comments, as I have just had a call from these people! He told me he was ringing from head office of Visa, and that I had won a holiday etc. I was immediately suspicious, but decided to string him along a bit. He told me that the holiday was awarded to people who have had a Visa card for 5 years. As I don't even have a Via card, I knew this was a scam, ( although I already knew it had to be). As I am rregistered with Call Preference, I told him that his call was illegal. He then said that he was from Visa Mastercard, which as far as I am aware, doesn't exist! I hung up and then dialled 1471, and put the number into Google, where I found several entries to confrim my theory. As you said, BEWARE!0 -
I litterally just had the same thing. Also seems like they are going through the phone book as clearly your sirname is also Burton! I said that they are clearly fraudulant and there was no way i was giving them my card details. Shame though i wanted to go to Orlando, Daytona Beach and Fort Lauderdale... I let him go through his sales speach first of course though to annoy him!
Will report this to Lloyds TSB a bit later0
