Boiler Grant - Scotland

Can anyone tell me if there is a grant available in scotland (like England - Warm Front) for me to replace an old boiler I am a single parent with a 4 year old on working tax benefits / with a knackered 15 year old boiler and don't have £3000 to replace it !!! Thanks

you can easily get a decent boiler for under £700, if you have a small property with less than 7 radiators, probably for around £575.

ask around friends and family see if any of them can recommend a Gas Safe engineer to fit it for you, should be able to negotiate £250 or less. Make sure it's on the books though, you want to have a vat receipt in case of any warranty claims.

If you can find one for £250 tell us, it'll be worth paying his travel and a hotel for him.
Basic fitting is about £750, for the cheapest round here.

Yeah I've had plenty of those kind of quotes as well. Ask for their day rate instead.
