help needed to get another credit card

I would like to know how people get new credit while they have multiple searches on their credit files.

Cut a long story short I had CSA problems so I moved in at my address 3 years or so ago, but I only registered on the voters roll in September on the rolling register.

Since then I had 26 searches on experian, 14 on equifax and none on callcredit. I have managed to open 6 accounts.

I first opened my current account with abbey I got a electron card having never paid my wage in the bank as I get cash wages. This was opened in September so I wont have been on the voters then.

At the same time I got Freemans £200 limit now two green "o", Jacamo with £125 limit three green "o" and a Marshall Ward £100 limit also 3 green "o". All catalogue account I have spent small amounts & paid off in full.

In October I got a Vanquis with a £250 limit 2 green "o" £180 balance at the moment but never went above £200.

In December I tried upgrading my orange pay as you go to a contract they refused. I then applied to Vodafone & didn't get a decision for 2 hours on sim only, so I applied to 3 network getting a sony c903 on a 24 month contract. I have cancelled the vodafone and in Jan the direct debit will call to pay the account off.

Total accounts will be 7 with 1 settled. I have £338 available credit £235 debt 28% used. Also I paid off £98 from this so in real time i owe £137.

Also I have took out few payday loans! I owe uncle buck £325 to be paid 30th December 2009, I had other ones and paid them off in full wonga etc.

Please point me in the right direction to getting another credit card I applied to Capital One Classic, Barclaycard Initial and Aqua all have refused and I appealled them and that was refused too.

I am at a stand still.

Dear Never In Doubt & Others can you suggest what to do?

Do I need to just wait a year? as I know you guys have many many more than me but have more sucess.

I dont think its extra credit you want, its to show that you can manage what you have first. as they say walk before you run. I would stay off the apply button for a while.

It makes no odds as they will drop off the searches on equifax in only six months!, I was advised by a friend 12 searches in a year is fine but space them out not 56 in one day!.

I also might add I joined checkmyfile.com and subscribed as initially experian, equifax and call credit wanted passport, driving license, bank statements etc in order to get my files this company just took the payment and sent me a key code to my home.

They give me quite high credit scores on their site considering I am fairly new to credit. 770 out of 1000 on equifax 752 out of 1000 callcredit and same 685 on experian(has been the same for 3mths!, also they don't give much info to checkmyfile)

They say I can get 3 loans, 9 credit cards and 6 current accounts that match but I applied to just one HSBC & was refused? go figure!

Are there any secured deposit credit cards in the market?

I know capital one used to ask for a deposit but do not now.

Shame it would be great if you could put £5k or whatever you like down and show on your credit file lenders would have confidence giving you a full account.
