posting log file help, spaces in text deleted

Hi I'm trying to post some log files but every time I do the spaces are all missing. I don't have word wrap on in notepad and the text copies normally into into a word doc it just takes out all the space when I try and post on here. Any ideas? Many Thanks

What you could try is copying into Word again, and saving as an .rtf extension (as opposed to .doc) and then pasting into here ;)

Youve mentioned 'word' several times now
'txt' files (Which they are) should only be opened with 'notepad'. Have you got your computer set wrong?
RIGHT CLICK the text file, select PROPERTIES and change OPENS WITH to 'notepad' and try again

I'm prety sure I know the cause ...

What you think are spaces are actually tab characters. Whatever is displaying them originally is honouring the tab (a single character) and displaying the text several spaces on from the previous character. A text editor such as notepad only leaves a single space for the tab.

As for a fix - I'm not so sure - silicon sal's suggestion of pasting first into word or wordpad then saving out (I'd suggest as text) may insert spaces to replace those lost but I wouldn't bank on it
