unibond waterproof mould resistant grout?

I need grout for 2 jobs.

One for the kitchen tiles. Existing grout (bog standard) absolute nightmare to clean as any spash of curry/tomatoes/oil etc soaks into the grout. Dont think i spend ages cleaning it, I just have disgusting looking grout! :rotfl:

So I need some grout that has kind of a plasticised finish that will repel things that get splattered on it so I can just wipe it away like you do on the worktop or tiles.

Would this unibond waterprrof grout do the job? or is waterproof stating the obvious purely as a sales gimmick?

Second problem is bathroom. very cold, and old bathroom so near the shower we have almost permanently orangy/browny tinge to grout (have been told this is due to iron in the water??) and a few feet away it quickly goes black.

Will the unibond help with either the black (I think it should) or the brown (no idea)?

Local diy shop (not chain) suggested this big bottle of stuff at £9.99 that you paint on with a brush to give a kind of clear coating to the grout. Anyone know if this is what I need?

I used the unibond waterproof grout in my bathroom.

Despite the title, grout is porous and still absorbs moisture. The orange colour in the shower is usually caused by the acid within soaps and shampoos.

My guess is the stuff the DIY shop were promoting is a grout sealer. Check if the one they are offering is a penetrating sealer. I used this and it seals the grout and reduces the staining, but doesn't totally prevent it in my experience.
