Home insurance - lender to be quoted on policy

Options
Hi,

We are first time buyers and are in the process of buying a house. We have been told by our solicitors that we need to get the buildings insurance schedule to them and to 'ensure that the mortgage lenders name is quoted on the policy'.

Having been on all the comparison sites, we have decided to go with Halifax. However, there is nowhere to input our lenders name - is there a way that I can do this online? I dont want to get the policy through and then have to ask for another document from them.

Cheers

Household policies nowadays tend to automatically include a clause to protect the interest of lenders meaning that there is no need to mention them by name. This should be good enough for your lender - and your solicitor.

Actually my mortgage provider explicitly wanted thyeir name listed on the policy as an interested party. This was explained to Co-op insurance who said its very common and indeed when i got the policy they were on it
