Abbey (Santander) Change of Address? Daft

How bonkers is it when you apply for your credit card online do all your payments etc online.
Then to change an address you have to go to a bank. Why do I want to go to town let alone to go to the bank!!

Just to let you all know, poor service in my books.

Most banks operate in this way.
They require written confirmation of address change.
    It's a fraud prevention measure.

You do not need to! You can send them a signed letter (all signatures if joint) informing them of address change. Use recorded mail - 75p I think it is I think and you will save yourself having to go into a bankicon12.gif
  • Little insiders tip.

Ask to speak to the e-commerce department, have your credit card to hand and they can change your address over the phone.

The last three times I've moved home I've rung First Direct and they've changed my address over the phone. Absolutely no need to write in, or sign anything.

Nor HBOS. A quick phone call is fine.
