It's called being responsible not tight
I've had a few people say the same thing to me, and I've turned around to them and told them I'm budgeting carefully and will be debt free in a few years unlike them!

Its not tight , its called "Self Auditing"
I now do this weekly. Just look at all my outgoing for previous week (I keep a diary of all expenditure) and then look at how to tighten a little more.
I asked my boss for a fridge and toaster for one of the offices ( Ihave to remote offices I work in) and they had one of each in torage. hence Inow have milk and jame and butter in frideg aso can have warm toast in mornings rather then buy (which i try to avoid)
Little savings all the time0
