Over the last few days I have been trying to tweak our SOA to save some money so I ....
Cancelled sky Saving £21
Changed payment protection on mortage Saving £9
Changed phone call providor Saving £5
Great £35 per month saved although will not see it for 2 months due to canellation periods.
TAX CREDIT OVERPAYMENT ....Ok so it's only £71.12 but means that no tax credit for next 2 payments til it's paid back. We only get £35 per month anyway.
So all my phone calls were for nothing lol Hubby told me this morning I am getting tight after I sent 45mins on phone with BT complaining.
We changed to Bt Broadband option 3 on I June, I know expensive but it was best for us as we have wireless network set up and kids download alot.
A few days ago caleld Bt and said I wanted to bring back my calls to them from Onetel and they done us a deal of free for 6 months so was costing us equiviant of £2.75 per month for free evenig and weekends calls.
Well imaging my rage when I see yesterday BT have amounced new options AGAIN for secound time in 4 weeks. I could now get (if I just signed up ) Free calls at evens and weekends along with my broadband. I WAS SO MAD. Only changed phone lcalls back to bt 2 days ago!!!
Well I was like a mad woman and on the phone to bt at 8am. First 2 people hopeless. Then I got a lovely manager....the result....
Have to stay with Evening and weekend calls as altready agreed to that for 12 months, 6 months free and the manager is now refunding the price f the other 6 months to me so acually getting Bt Option 2 on my calls for 12 months for my old price of line rental only. (which we acually get refund from hubbys work for anyway , so acually pay no line rental at all )
Plus she is sending me new modem so we can also get the BT Broadband talk free through our ISP.
So by me trying to save money ended up with 2 services the same and will only use one lol I think I need to stop trying to save money just gets complicated.

Maybe if I had been tight years ago would not have needed IVA

you are not tight, you are responsibly trying to make the most of your money. As we all know on her, a few phonecalls can eventually be worth a lot. My OH thought I was great to start with when I said I had saved us X amounts of ££££s per month, but seemed to think it meant he could spend more, then came the accusations of me being tight when I moaned about it.0

I dont think you are tight - sounds like you are in :T control.0

I know how you feel- I managed to save £100 on car insurance, but had to pay £74 cancellation fee.
Keep it up you're doing really well!!0 -
Tight is good !!!
It's being generous that got some of us into this mess in the first place :rotfl:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

My thoughts exactly!!! Whats wrong with being tight. Better to be tight than bleeding money out all over the shop and not know where its going etc
tell him if he can save money without "being tight" then tell us how to do it!!! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
It's not tight, it's money saving!! My friends sometimes say this to me in a jokey way when for example I have a lime and soda because it is 50p rather than a coke because that's £1.10-£1.45. I just explain to them that at the moment I'd rather save the difference as it means me being debt free sooner rather than later! They laugh and take the mickey but they are all in debt but just not acknowledged it! They also take the mick out of how much money I spend on my food shopping!!!! But I don't care!!!
.......................................................................................... I like being careful with my money now. Gives me far more satisfaction than when I was just blowing it and not knowing how much I was spending!! (apologies for no paragraphs!! doesn't work here at work!! lol!) Official DFW Nerd no. 082! :cool:Debt @ 01/01/2014 £16,956 Debt now: £0.00 :j
Aims:[STRIKE] clear debt, get married, buy a house[/STRIKE]
ALL DONE!!

I don't think you are being tight.
I know what you mean about it getting complicated about trying to save money, the amount of time I have spent on the phone and net is unreal!
Always do feel a bit smug though at the end of it when I work out how much I've saved!0
