Can My Letting Agency Change The Rent Due Date

I own a property and as I live a hundred miles away due to being in the Navy. My husband and I decided to use a letting agency to let our house out in Northampton. They found us a tenant quickly but ever since we have had problems getting our rent on time.
The letting agency have decided to put the rent due date back from the 16th to the 23rd without prior consent from us. We do need the money in really before the 20th ideally but they seem not to bothered about our concerns.
Also if they have put the rent back one week should the tenants have to pay an extra week rent one month to bring them up to date.
I am new to this site and would really appreciate any advice you could give me and thankyou in advance

i have done this several times, without asking the LL i represente - the focus needs to be on the tenant in many ways and not on you. I suggest the agent has asked why the rent is always late and has found out that maybe the tenants dont get paid till the 23rd - it would make sense that they pay just immediately after they get paid, rather than a month after they get paid.
if you make it easy for tenants to pay - it is much more likely that they will pay on a regular basis.
yes, the agents should have got the tenants to pay the extra from 16th to 22nd.....0
