Comet and Hotpoint callout issue

I bought a hotpoint washing machine from Comet exactly a year ago with an 5 year extended warranty for a hefty fee.

There is now a fault with the washing machine and Comet promised to send an engineer out 4 weeks ago and still no1 has turned up. The call centre people at Comet keep messing me around and there is no word from Hotpoint either.

I heard Comet were good for after sales service however Im very dissapointed with the level of service I have received so far.

Please advise on my next steps to get this resolved ASAP??:mad:

    PS I seem to remember a poster on here a wekk or so ago saying that he was a Comet rep and had permission to post here to help answer thses sorts of complaints. he may be along in a bit to help you.

    Comet are a terrible company for after sales service. An elderly relative had a faulty new cooker which was dangerous and they wouldn't replace despite being unable to fix the issue. Eventually only after it was reported to trading standards, the local paper and legal advice had been sought did they finally replace the cooker. this was some 12 weeks after the problem we reported which is just not acceptable. Personally I'll never buy anything from them again and will do my best to educate others to the kind of company they are.

    To be honest i have never had a problem with after sales call outs ,getting something fixed is a different matter though
    Had problems with a TV since jan ,comet been out at least 4 times to try to repair ,always on time always helpful ,just a shame they dont know what they are doing with regards to fixing the problem lol

    Had that many new parts in it ,Reminded me of Triggers broom from OFAH :)
    Eventually it was taken back to base to get fixed and all is well

    Phil I already done this a long time ago and I'm still getting totally messed about. Please advise how I can escalate this with you directly?? I need an authorisation code from Alex in your service centre ID Number 308, based in Harlow.

    If this is still not resolved, please use the contact us link above and mark your e-mail 'FAO Phil.' I will then pick it up and deal with it directly for you.
