Congestion Charge appeal

I've just recieved a penalty charge notice but it was adressed wrongly I am a 'MR' & it was addressed to a 'MIss' all other details however were correct.

Does anyone know if this is grounds for appeal I know it's not much of a mistake but they have still got my details wrong especially when my very obvious male christian name was printed in full.

Thanks

I wouldnt have thought that it is - were you in London at the time or do you realise that you were at fault? If so I would pay up as if you dont and it escalates further or even to court you may end up paying more

If you haven't opened it then return it as addressee unknown.

If you have opened it and are guilty of the offence then pay up - £50 is a hell of a lot cheaper than £100 if you lose the appeal.

This is like the parking ticket thread. Everything needs to be correct (100%) in order for it to be fully enforceable. For example you get your passport and it says Miss, instead of Mr, you will be rejected from the airport queue and told to come back only with the correct passport, showing the correct details. I think I have might have found the reason why there was an error on the ticket. :rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously, if your worried or want a confirmation of what to do next, I would go and get advice from the Citizen Advice Bureau or from a solicitor(s).
  • Thanks everyone, I was in London overnight & got caught twice so the fine is £100!! stupid I know & I did try to pay online when I got back but it was past the deadline so even more reason to try to get out of it.

I will post another message if I do manage to get out of it to help anyone else who might have the same problem.
