Hope the title makes sense.
Basically bought a corded phone for the bedroom as a back up phone as guilty of sometimes letting the hands free run out of battery.
However when making calls from it and getting those 'for such and such press 1, for such and such press 2' etc etc, nothing happens, you can press whatever # you want and then the options get repeated again.
If i use my cordless phone for these calls, i don't have a problem.
So what is wrong with my phone???

It's not switched to tone dialling. You'll find a tone/pulse switch (probably underneath).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
