Right, heres an update. I sent the item to Nokia after getting in touch with them. They sent it to their own repair centre(free post) and found that the phone had no physical damage, nor water damage

They sent a replacement phone out yesterday and it arrived at my house today and was delivered by UPS

    Result

At least, I didnt have to go through the hassle of small claims. I will also be complaining about the engineer at CPW. It just seems that the engineer printed off a report from 2007, thinking they could fob us off
  • Call them back and tell them you are claiming for the anxiety they caused you due to the engineer's incorrect report. It won't get you anywhere, but it will give them some strife. :D

Right, that would be quite difficult to do, as Id have to see them in court lol, without much to go on

I will be complaining though, and hopefully this (lazy) engineer has a seeing to, though I doubt it. I contacted CPW before and wrote a letter to their head office, and they basically said "Our engineer was right, you're wrong, you have no warranty,as its uneconomical to repair" My thinking is, it would have simply have been quite costly to repair the mobile, so they fobbed me off.

I wonder what watchdog would have to say about this? Would be quite interesting

Nokia were really helpful though. Thanks to all that helped here as well. I would have been down £220 if this was not sorted

I suppose I could have said to them that Ill see you in court-the nearest one to me being about a 10 min walk. And make them pay the extra £30, but it wasnt worth the hassle, seeing as though I couldnt really find a different repair centre(besides Nokia) so my only real option was to contact Nokia and take it from there
