Vent: Hotpoint Dryer

I purchased a Hotpoint Dryer 18 months ago, which has a 5 year parts guarantee.

The 12 month guarantee passed and I did not pay the renewal for the extended guarantee, as I thought the 5 year parts guarantee would be sufficient.

Now, the heating element has broken on my dryer. I called a local repair man who came out and looked it at me.

I thought it would simply be a case of calling Hotpoint and claiming for the new part under the 5 year parts guarantee, but I thought wrong.

Hotpoint state the 5 year parts guarantee only covers you when they send out their own engineer to fit the parts.

However, on there website Hotpoint offer a fixed rate for repairs which includes the parts anyway!!

Basically, the 5 year parts guarantee is worthless. If anything breaks you have to pay the same fixed rate fee for the repair / parts, guarantee or not.
