    Sorry but many cats are lactose intolerant so can't have cow's milk, and others struggle to effectively digest grains including rice! :o Felines are obligate carnivores, they get their energy from protein and fat not carbohydrates.

    The vet's not mentioned the gel - when he was in hospital they were feeding him a protein 'soup' with a syringe. I'll give the vet a call today for a chat though.
