I have, yesterday, written to the Information Commissioner, and have informed BH that I have done so.
How best should I pursue the letters from Nationwide Collection Services?
I will be going to CAB - but they are only open 2 days a week here.
    Any suggestions please.

I was just getting ready to go to the CAB,this morning, when the postman brought a recorded delivery, from a BH Compliance & Admin executive.
This letter contains copies of the information held in respect of the account, albeit 45 days after my request.
A transcript of the account diary notes was also included - this appears to be their record of phone calls, and their contents, as well as decisions.
The transcripts appear to have been written very much in favour of those agents who called me (I suppose I should expect nothing else)
What does worry me, however, is:
    1. There appears to be NO record of the discussions I had with the Edinburgh branch, when I was initially told that I could hand the vehicle back after 2 years/50%. Neither of the conversation when I was told that if I paid one further payment, then all other arrears would be put at the back of the agreement.
    2. They mention, on several entries, that I was aware of fees. Never mentioned.
    3. They have not, yet, sent me a statement of the account - they say this will follow, under separate cover.
    4. Why should it take nearly 3 months, from date of repossession to date of sale? Value would have dropped by more than what they are claiming during this period.
    5. One note that puzzles me - why should they find it 'odd' (their words) that
their call, to my office, went on to an answer phone?
    6. On several occasions, when they have rung my home, they have spoken to my son - this has been because I was not there, but the question mark would imply that they believed that it was, in fact, me on the phone.
    7. The transcript shows the date that the NWDC letters were sent - the first one was sent 4 days after they received my request for info, which included a request, from me, to hold any further action until I had had time to study the information that I had requested.

It is only the possibility that this will end in court action that prevents me from expressing my true feelings about BH.

  • Sorry to horn in on this thread. I'm only posting here because of the postcode DN55.

Once again, a letter comes through the post addressed to someone who has never lived here. I've never heard of the person but someone has decided he lives here and that's that. Who am I to argue with them? I've lived here for 9 years, the previous occupant 30+ years and in all that time, no-one of that name has ever lived here.

On the back of the envelope, it says: Handling Returns Centre, Doncaster, DN55 1RY.

Each time we've got one of these letters, it's gets posted back with NOT KNOWN AT THIS ADDRESS. RETURN TO SENDER, written on the envelope.

Well, I'm fed up of this. I've tried searching this company so I can contact them myself and tell them to stop sending mail to someone who doesn't even live here, but it's been futile as I've found nothing.

Has anyone ever heard of them? Who are they?

    Grrr! This is so annoying!

Think you will find that this letter came from the NHS and is simply a GP PATIENT SURVEY FORM... My parnter received one today as did a friends partner.

Wow, rog, this just shows how far you've come in 3 years, from being worried and ignorant of the big nasty world of debt, to being one of the most respected and knowledgable posters on here. Very impressive!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Returns centre, DN55 1RY is the address of the NHS patient Feedback Centre. If the addressee is quite unknown, instead of sending the letter back marked "Return To Sender", open the letter and send the prepaid preaddressed (Worthing) envelope and the questionaire form marked as " Unkown Person". This is more likely to be acted upon than at the dispatch centre.
