How do you delete the guest account ?? windows xp home.
I set a password for my pc account, but if someone stole it they could still use the guest account. atm it's turned off.
There's no option to delete it only turn it on and off.
Does the pc only allow the administrator to turn the guest account on and off ?? If I log out, would I have to log back in to turn the guest account on again ?

Hi there. Dont believe you can delete the guest account unfortunately. Have you thought about setting up a BIOS password so that they wouldnt even get near windows?Useful is beautiful0

You can switch 'Guest' off in 'User Accounts', though you will have to be an administrator.
I turned mine off to stop my annoying housemate using my laptop without permission!!0 -
If someone wants to see whats on your harddrive then all they have to do is slave it onto another system and have full access to everything on it.0

I just want to make sure that if someone does steal the pc they wont be able to use it....... Or at least hinder them in trying to use it.
I turned the guest account off using the administrator account but when I rebooted it still let me use the guest account

I wouldn't worry about this. If someone steals your PC, they're lkely to format it anyway if it's going to be used as is.
If you have sensitive information that needs protecting then you should look at encryption programs. (Search for the threads discussing them)0 -
You could try deleting the guest account folder in
C:\documents and settings\Guest
It might make a difference as turning off the account still leaves all the data and information behind.
