Rochdale Dog Rescue are a group of volunteers who get pound dogs out of the stray pound on the 7th day when they are due to be pts. They have 7 days to find an approved rescue in any part of the country for the dogs to be placed and then have to arrange a relay of transporter volunteers to take them. If rescue places cant be found the dogs are put into emergency boarding where they are charged at the low rate of £4 a day until a rescue place can be found. Unfortunately the boarding places are now full with 13 dogs and 6 more dogs are in the stray pound.

If you can help in any way, be it transporting, fund raising etc. please come forward to help the dogs. The dogs are boarded at a Merseyside kennel.

The latest email from the group is as follows:

"Apologies for asking for more help as everyone already contributes so much. However, we have been made aware that dog food is urgently required at our existing boarding kennels. As everyone knows, we are full there at the moment and as its so cold, any additional food for the dogs would be most welcome please. unsure.gif

There are a couple of ways to help if you are close enough/able to :-

1. Firstly, please let either Coryn or myself know that you have extra food which you can transport to boarding. You can do this via either the pm system or please email me at dcbalchin@aol.com
I expect that any old bedding, towels would also be most welcome.
We have to let boarding know in advance if anyone is going across there.

2. This evening a rescue that we work closely with has kindly offered us a van/car full of food. We just need to transport it from Lancaster to boarding. A run may well go up for this in due course but if you are able to help with this in the meantime, please do contact Coryn, Ally or myself.

If anyone is able to help, please email deborah at the above email address or check out the forum at Rochdale Dog Rescue.

Many thanks.

I'm too far away to help but have made a small contribution via paypal. Shame it can't be more, but I'm a bit short right now.

I got my dog from a rescue that got him from a pound. They do a great job.
Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.
