Help: receiving PCNs but not my car any more

In my last job I 'owned' a car which was registered in my name but my employer paid the finance on it. I left the job in mid Sept, and on the day I left I signed and dated my copy of the V5 to effectively 'sell' it back to them, and handed it to a director of the company
I've received 2 PCNs through the post this week dating from November, and discovered after checking with DVLA that my ex-employer has never re-registered the car:mad:, so it's legally still in my name! DVLA told me to write to them and they would put a note on the reg no, which takes 14 days, and I've appealed both PCNs, so we'll see what happens with them..
Do I have any other legal recourse or backup?

if the car was registered in your name then you should have sent off the V5 yourself
i would just write and inform all partys of ther date you 'gave up' the car0 -
Do you have any copies to say you handed it over?
A few years back I sold a car.... a few weeks later I was inundated with parking tickets, then the police came to see me and it turned out the car was involved in an accident. I kept the photocopies of the bit you send to the DVLA. Also, I was being sued over the accident for whiplash and personal injury but luckily I was shopping in Somefield 40 miles from where it happened within minutes of 'my' accident I had signed my Cc card receipt for my shopping and I showed them my receipt and my bank statement and I never heard a thing from them after that.
The same happened with another car we sold, car was impounded and we received loads of tickets and bills for that. Keep photocopies of everything when you sell a car and if you have bought something using your credit card give he receipt to show you was not in that place at that time.0 -

That did not work for me, they wanted proof, so this is why I gave the copies of receipts of me having shopped elsewhere at that time. It was lucky really, the only thing that got me off charges as it was a hit & run accident. Pretty frightening I have to say. This is why the plice came to see me, it was a summer evening and I was doing the garden and they asked if it was me and I said 'yes' and they said thanks and wandered off. Next thing all of the letters from the police started.0
