in Credit cards
my daughter had her details used from a previous address The perpotrator ran up some debt on a card in my daughters name . This came to light when the police in formed her, but would not tell her who or how much The police informed my daughter that it should not affect her credit rating ,which i might add is 1st class . On trying to obtain a loan from the bank which she could have she was advised that she has a poor rating due to the theft of her details. This loan she needs for IVF reasons i also would add that she paid the post office to redirect mail to her new address What do we need to do please , it is all a little distressing when it is not your fault thanks Beatrice

So it's application fraud then as in a unknown person applied for credit in your daughters name?
if so then I suggest:
Your daughter gets a copy of her credit file
She contacts the financial companies where the fraudulent application/applications were made
They should then send her a disclaimer for her to sign to say she didn't apply for the card
The institution should offer to add a protective marker against her details on her credit file
Her credit file should be corrected by the company where the application was made and the debt removed against her name.
Hope that helps
With regards to the police, the company are the victim so it's up to them whether they follow it up with the police or not.0 -
