I would make
Leeks wrapped in ham in a cheese sauce
Quiche or omlette using the ham as filling
Ham toasted sandwiches to serve with hot soup
You can also freeze ham - we did last year when our supermarket were selling off ends of ham joints from the delli for 50p each:D
Best Wishes

how about.
Cutting the ham into strips, with some halved cherry tomatoes, mushrooms (or whatever you have going). Fry for a couple of minutes in butter. Combine with some spagetti and then stir in some green pesto....lovelyWell Behaved women seldom make history

Hi folks, need some ideas with what to do with excess ham. Did an online asda shop and was being harassess by the husband/kids/next door neighbour at the time. Consequently I managed to order a kilo of deli hand carved ham at £15 per kilo (I know not very mse).
Anyway delivery has arrived early (was booked for 7-9) and when I found my ham (theres loads of it) I found it has a use by date of tomorrow.
I've just rung asda to complain and said I accept that ordering too much was my fault (although I think this could be clearer) but how anyone thinks I would use a full kilo of ham between delivery tonight and tomorrow is beyond me.
Result they just refunded the full amount, which was very good of them, but I now have loads of hame that I don't know what to do with. I also have a glut of eggs (chickens) so was thinking maybe quiches and freeze?
Any other ideas?
Thanks0 -
quiches or ham and egg pie or I have a recipe for ham and chicken lasange with the meats in a white sauce, layered with pasta and topped with cheddar
you can just freeze as is tooPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

You can just put it into sandwich size portions, put a plastic bag in between each portion and layer it up in a plastic box.
and freezemake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

good idea - or just make up a big batch of sandwiches and freeze them! i do this regularly - just get the sarnies that you need that day out in the morning and put them in a sandwich box and by lunch time they will be perfect.wading through the treacle of life!

A whole kilo of ham, I'd be made up!
Imagine sitting there with a crusty loaf and a few tomtatoes, heaven!
I've frozen ham in sandwich bags before but you have to make sure it's flat and nothing goes on top iof it as it's quite brittle when frozen and breaks really easily.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Ham and leek in a cheese sauce, either as a pie with pastry or mash top or with rice (can freeze in sauce for another time)
do a roast with it - roast tatties, yorkshires and veg, with cold (or heated) ham
chicken and ham pie (can freeze for another time)
ham and eggs for breakfast
ham mixed with mayo in vol a vents (retro buffet snack)
just freeze in portions and use as and when needed0 -
Fry onions, mushrooms in pan, add sliced ham stir in soft cheese and milk.. add to pasta!
One of my favourite meals ever, you can also add peppers or other veg to bulk it out..
