With the recent power of facebook being shown could it not be used to form a group to show the public feeling. I personally do not know how to set up a group but if someone could it would be great.
Oh and if you think the decision by the courts and OFT is correct that's fine but we do not need your opinions on this thread. The banks saying they would have needed to charge for accounts to cover costs is rubbish, if they had not paid out the billions to workers despite poor performance they would not be in this situation.
Just read some of the stories on here, i had an experience where i paid in a credit to the HSBC bank and paid the extra to cover express clearance. The funds (3000 pounds) did not appear after five days and when i challenged them they said they did not know where they were. I went into the branch and spoke to the member of staff who took my deposit and he said it was not his fault. It took three weeks for the credit to appear and as it was put into the account to cover payments i got charged for being overdrawn. The HSBC said it was not their fault and that i should take it up with the clearing bank, which was strangely Barclays. The upshot was that no one would take the blame and i was told it was all my fault as i should have checked the funds had cleared - so i had to pay the charges.
Banks operate outside the normal consumer laws and now thanks to pressure from the establishment they will continue to do as they want.
It would have been better in the long run if the OFT had stayed out of the whole sorry situation as they have been politically pressured like every other government run institution.

im in a facebook group there are plenty of them,i got a free web template from moonfruit.com and bulit my own site on the charges scam in my own way, building a website and publishing stuff puts pressure on banks,i couldnt care less what the banks or there lawyers do to me if i offend them, quite frankly im past caring, banks have now shown to britain who rules this country, thanks for the clarification mr lloyds or halifax.
i like the fact they have clarified this, life will be a lot easier now.
i suggest at the general election every single one of us take a voting slip into our bank and hands it over to the bank manager, after all it is they who are the main voice in britain,(i wonder if banks would like that,i dont think so,in fact id think they would detest that happening to them)i am taking a voting slip to my bank on polling day just to see if they get the sarcasm,im allowed to protest in a peacefull manner so i suppose its ok,politics is dead, cash is king, long live the king.missed direct debit charges, very odd, theres no pain so how come the big gain,i.e £39.00 for a letter0
