having got the message about windows not being genuine i cannot now get into hotmail or my bank, plus a couple of other sites.....someone said to download all updates but it wont let me...........i used pcmightymax to tell me what problems i am having - its not free so it wont repair them for me......can someone help me in how to repair them please....thanks

there is nothing here that would stop you from using hotmail etc
but i would suggest you download Ccleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/download/
this has a registry fixer on it and will sort out the registy problems above0 -
thanks - i already use ccleaner so i dont know how these went unnoticed, i wish i knew how to get onto my hotmail.................0

Basically you need to install Messenger again http://imagine-msn.com/messenger/launch80/?locale=en-gb as a lot of the files missing are actually MSN notification sounds so it looks like Messenger has been messed with, also I would Install Media Player again as you have a few missing files.
Media Player http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/mp10/default.aspx
Now just install these two bits of software then that gives a clean platform to try and find the Hotmail problem.0
