I just received my duropal worktops and after standing them up in the garage i have noticed 1 of them is a good inch and half warped in the middle (they are 4.1m tops)

I could not tell this as the 2 drivers took them off the van and layed them flat on my garage floor, it was only when i put them on there sides this was noticable.

I brought duropal tops because i understand they are about the best laminate you can get. Is this normal for worktops to warp abit or should i get getting on the ringer to the company i brought from?

You know the answer to that question.

    Cheers

I'd get on the phone :)
  • Great photos - they would convince me!
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
  • I phoned the company (blingyourkitchen) and he said to lay them flat on top of each other for a couple days and it should fix it, else they would issue a replacement after the new year :(

Wanted to try and get kitchen done over n/y as well....suppose i can get the cabinets put in and just use old worktops for now
  • Store them flat on the floor and that should sort them out. if you store them the way they are in the picture they will also warp width ways.
  • I had 2x lengths of the same wortop and stored upright exactly the same as yours for a couple of months. Mine bent worse than yours in the middle, but were absolutely fine when fitted. I guess it's due to them being very long, when standing upright they will bend a bit in the middle. When I layed them flat prior to fitting, they were fine. Hope this reassures you.

I often fit worktops, an many are like that when they come. once there lay'd flat the weight of them straightens them out & if they are any cutouts in the piece this helps loads once cut out. I really wouldn't worry about them an go ahead an fit them. If there is still a bit of bend in them when they are joined together, when you screw them down to the units it will get rid of any bend.
