Last month my car insurance was cancelled by the company, but I got the policy through a indipendent insurance adviser and they are trying to charge me for their 12month commission eventhough I was only with them for a monrth.
Is their any way that I can get out of this as I feel that I am being ripped off.

It depends on the adviser's Terms and Conditions which you would have been given when you took out the policy.

The insurance was cancelled due to them not receiving a written letter from my company to say that I havent had a crash / claim in a company car even though I only drive a company car once in a blue moon.
I tried to speak to them on two seperate occasions only got put through to their reception where I had to leave my name and number and reference number, but hey presto nobody got back to me.
Dont use Be Wiser Insurance if I was you.

The 'adviser' earned his commission when you accepted his quotation. Most advisers T&Cs allow them to retain commission if a policy is cancelled. As brokers commission is mostly consumed by upfront costs (especially in the first year of a policy and when commission is normally around 10%) why should you expect anything back?

I would suggest sending important letters by recorded delivery in future for the sake of 75p.

Sounds like the post may have let you down, but you can't sit back and do nothing even if people don't do what they say they will.
