National Express coach funfares

Does anyone know when National Express release funfare seats? I need to book for March but can only see funfares up to the end of Feb.

Megabus only have seats up to the end of Jan at the moment. =/

  • I often book these, and have found that they usually appear around a month in advance. I once phoned around 3 years ago to ask and was told about the tickets appearing at the stat of the previous month.

You have found that there are already some for February: it is worth checking every day or so in January if you want to go in March.

Weekdays are often better than Friday evenings and Saturdays where the cheapest slots are concerned.

    Happy New Year.

Does anyone know whether National Express have 10% discount promotional codes?

Their previous code COUTEN has expired.

    Many Thanks.

According to the Help section on the National Express web site:

"Funfares are put into the system anywhere from three months ahead to the day before departure. These are exceptional offers for our customers and are placed on certain routes and journeys based upon commercial principles. Generally there will be a basic level of funfares on the appropriate routes at least a couple of weeks prior to travel dates."

I guess that like train operating companies, NX Coaches, want to avoid a rush for tickets at the most popular travel times by specifying exactly when tickets will be made available?
